Some good stuff

There's an article over at baseballprospectus.com that's really encouraging. If you have a subscription, check it out. For those who can't, here's a few quotes.

"In major league history, how many teams have had four starting infielders (min: 100 G) who were 24 or younger? Try none. How many teams have had three starting infielders who were 24 or younger? Again, try none."

"With the youngest infield in major league history, the Brewers missed the playoffs by two games. That entire infield returns, albeit in a new defensive alignment that’s probably worth 30 or 40 runs."

And finally, "The NL Central is officially on notice: the Brewers are here to stay."

One week too late on the used to be never nervous Narveson...he came back to earth today saturday agains of all tems...the Giants...goes to show why spring training lasts more than two appearances for a pitcher....same scenario for magic man vargas today....which is why Yost is gonna keep Bush in the rotation...
Bush is improving and the more popular players..Parra and vargas are slippping a bit....but there is still another start for parra I think...

Slipping a bit can't really be said. Every one is allowed a bad start. Vargas only has on real problem with his last start and it was walks. Even Bush's 'good' start was marred by a two run opening inning. Villanueva has earned his spot. Capuano and/or Vargas will get traded regardless of what Melvin has to say. Parra has pitched himself on to this team, and Bush, well, I guess he's our five starter no matter how much I disagree with it.

Narveson was a straight dark horse for this rotation. With Pena and Stetter working the set up and closer roles in AAA Narveson will get some starts and replenish the depth upon the trading of one of the guys vying for position.

Nashville is still the plan at the end of May. Just hoping the rest of the crew doesn't fall through.
